Client Agreement
Fees and Payment
-
For information on my current fees please contact my PA, Cheryl Hanshaw on 07840 065 294 / officeannelane@gmail.com.
-
If you agree to continue with therapy after your first appointment I expect payment for one session in advance to allow me to reserve your slot for the following week.
-
This means that at the end of your very first session you will be asked for payment for both the current session and for one session in advance.
-
For all further appointments, payments for the following week should be made on the day of therapy, either in cash, cheque or BACS (unless otherwise arranged).
Regular sessions
-
If you decide to go ahead with therapy following your first session I will ask you to commit to regular sessions at the same time each week.
-
Unfortunately it is usually not possible to provide therapy sessions on a fortnightly basis as this would leave a slot empty on alternative weeks.
Ad hoc sessions
-
If you wish to see your me on an occasional basis once regular sessions have ended, you can continue to make appointments on an ad hoc basis.
-
Ad hoc sessions can only be booked within seven days of the appointed time by calling the number on the website.
-
Some therapists run a very full diary so their flexibility is limited. Ad hoc sessions are therefore subject to availability.
Cancellations & Breaks
-
If you cancel a session with less than 7 days notice I charge the full fee for the missed session. However, it’s worth asking me if I can offer you a different time, or a session online.
-
If you can give at least 7 days notice of a planned commitment, a holiday or other break, I charge a 50% holding fee to reserve your slot while you are away.
-
The holding fee can only apply to two missed sessions in any three month period. Further missed sessions are charged at the full rate if you still want to hold your slot.
Health Insurance
-
If your sessions are covered by health insurance the same cancellation and holding fees apply. You are personally responsible for these charges unless your insurance provider agrees to pay. In some cases health insurance does not cover my full fees. Please contact my PA to check cover.
Confidentiality
-
I follow the code of ethics of the British Psychological Society which can be found on their website.
-
Discussions with me, and any notes I write, are confidential and will not be disclosed to any other person without your consent.
-
Exceptions to this rule would be if I am required to disclose information by a court of law, or in order to protect you or another person from significant harm.
-
In addition, I am required by my profession to have regular supervision sessions where I may discuss aspects of your therapy. I will not however reveal your identity during these sessions.
-
Information held about you is covered by the Data Protection Act 2018 and will not be disclosed to third parties.
